No I don't think so. I put that in so I could get the checksum for hard coding purposes. 

That was before I understood it can be done with 2 rpc commands.



getblockhash height

getblock hash |grep modifierchecksum


hobonickelsd  getblockhash 261031



hobonickelsd  getblock 00000007ac438e79631b1917f785fc59080fdb13d26f8f7fdf3d8b776cb1d484 |grep modifierchecksum
"modifierchecksum" : "8c12bdb8"


It is rarely activated, and even when it is, it only printing to the debug log.
