BLACKCOIN BC

A NEW form OF CURRENCY

BlackCoin is a peer-to-peer digital currency with a distributed, decentralized public ledger; that unlike ones held at traditional banks, are viewable and easily audited by the people.

The ability to manage transactions and issue additional BlackCoins is all handled by the network of users utilizing BlackCoin. Because the BlackCoin network is run by the people, holders of BlackCoin receive a 1% yearly interest through a process called staking.

AN INNOVATIVE NEW way TO TRANSFER MONEY

BlackCoin’s technology allows people to send and receive fast, easy and secure payments with friends, family, and merchants anywhere in the world. BlackCoin allows you to manage your finances without the need for a central authority or bank.
BlackCoin is open-source too, meaning that the software that makes it function is completely available for public scrutiny — giving you peace of mind. No one owns BlackCoin, it is not a single entity; anyone can be a part of it.

  • Nominal stake interest: 1% annually

You wont believe how easy it is to kill this by a 51%

You need to run a full node in order for the wallet to mine blocks based on PoS and it should be up always; how many people will do that? (especially when the interest rate is low)? When these coins will be made popular, 90% people will run paper wallets giving power to the hands of these 10%; thus an attack may not be that hard to do.

This is not true for the VAST majority of the PoS coins that exist. So unless Blackcoin has somehow tailored their code (doubtful) - you can mine PoS blocks with only a wallet. I'll pick up some coins as soon as I can to double check/verify. I am mostly interested in the 8hr stake time claim.

See the Stake coin list - https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/4838-proof-of-stake-coin-list/

I'll be making major updates today.

I feel as if I'm misunderstanding still.

It's been 8 hours since coins have been deposited in my wallet, yet no stake?

Your wallet cannot be locked/encrypted. And 8hrs is the minimum time. It could take longer depending on the coins on the network. And at 1% yearly it won't be a big stake as things go.

Looks like there is going to be a wallet update soon too.

Ok. Makes sense. Wallet is not encrypted so I'll wait.
