[ANN] LitBar (LTB) - Reborn (sub- Bitbar has a little brother)

Recommended Posts

keep in mind that the network hash rate for Litebar is pretty low, and using a large rig could cause you to be mining your own fork.  8)

I hear you there.  But solo mining for me right now just isn't practical.  I only have about 1 MH/s of scrypt mining power.  I would love to have a pool running so that I could throw some hash at it and make some coins over time.

Actually, looking at the block explorer and the pool, 118 MH/s isn't too bad for a revived scrypt coin IMO.  Someone is hitting a lot of blocks.

the problem is that the diff is so high. i had 50 mhs solo and hit 0 blocks in 24 hrs then i pointed to the pool at mineblock or what ever its called and got nothing but rejected shares. idk

What were you mining ? Litebar diif is like 5

50 Mh/s should get you about 6 blocks an hour

sorry that was a diff coin the problem I had with litbar was I got the wallet synced at up to 124k blocks  then I would point my rigs and after a few min the wallet would say out of sync and say it was missing 800k blocks. almost like it was connecting to a different coin too

Ya, mine does that to. there are a few other coin wallets that connect.  They don't interfere with our block chain, but they don't go away (yet) either.  Thats one of the next steps in the coming litebar wallet updates.

current count is 125342

Maybe you should upload the blockchain to your website.  I know I had to do that for Louchano.  Doing this would save people time from having to dload the blockchain for the coin.

as soon as I start mining solo the wallet goes out of sync. I just synced it turn on rigs then out of sync 1 block. any ideas I have good connections

as long as your block count matches http://altcoinix.com/explorer/ltb/ you don't have to worry about the out of sync message.

I've never solo mined using a wallet, so I'm guessing it stops mining ??

at least you are active with your coins an comunity. it does say beta on the wallet so kinks are expected

I just started being dev for Litebar about three weeks ago.

I don't think there had been one for quite a while ( over a year ??)

The last developers actually pulled their code from github - so I'm working with wallet source code from Feb 18, 2014

Open you wallet wait for it to sync.  Go to Help > Debug Window > Console Tab

At the bottom enter "getpeerinfo" without the quotes and hit return.

You'll see a list of peers in brackets - peer info for each peer - check 2 things for each - the banscore and the startingheight for each.

On some other coins there are bad clients on the network and they'll have a ban score of 20 and it kicks the coin out of sync when mining.

Also, with most wallets, if a block hasn't been found in awhile the client will show that it's not in sync even though it is.
