Is there any way to use project specific settings?

For example, I am trying to fetch only certain tasks from [email protected], but the pool only gives me CPU and GPU options and overrides the Einstein settings.

I've gotten everything up and running, im having issues with Climate prediction. Boinc gives me this message

climateprediction.net: Notice from BOINC

This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add http://climateprediction.net/

Thoughts? Or is this just something the pool needs to fix?

I am also getting the "Failed to add a project to the pool's database. Please report to Katiee on #GridCoin IRC" error message. Collatz is failing to sync, and it's still not showing up on my profile page after a few days. I found out one potential lead: one of my projects is somehow tied to a different CPID despite everything being on the same computer in the same instance of BOINC. I'm working on resolving that, but I figured this might help you chase down the account manager error.

Edit: Looks like I misspoke. Actually, the CPID all my projects are collecting stats for is just different than the CPID listed on my GridCoin.co Pool profile page, and that's also listed at the top of my client_state.xml file. Not sure if that should be the case? Probably not, right?

This for sure is my detailed info on Collatz, verified by matching the computer number with my client_state.xml: http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/show_host_detail.php?hostid=556274

But that leads to the CPID 9a8dd1e762429da00002d93a8bb89721, which is definitely not the one listed on my pool profile page.

So I've been having issues with certain projects, but today it resolved. I did 2 things which I'm not sure is what made it start working:

1. I added a second host to my account.
2. On the original host I was having issues with, I tried sync with boinccmd instead of the GUI.

Everything works now, even in the GUI.

"C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinccmd" --join_acct_mgr http://pool.gridcoin.co username password

Edit:
Username is the username for the pool, which is your email address.

I'm running BOINC 7.6.22 x64 on Window 7 x64.

EDIT:

So, the problem came back, and it is NOT fixed by the boinccmd command. The first time around, it must have been a fluke. This time it was triggered by me attaching the Gridcoin Finance project.

Gizmodroid:

when I tried to run that command, I got this output:

poll status: operation in progress
poll status: operation in progress
poll status: unexpected XML tag or syntax

Just to doublecheck, you're using your email address as your username, correct?  And, do you have any special characters in your username/email?

Yes, sorry the pool username is your email address. I get the the XML error if I put in the wrong email or password.

For everyone getting the "Failed to Add/Insert" errors when syncing to the pool's account manager in BOINC, I have found the problem and will be working on a fix in the next couple of days. I don't know how long this will take, I will have to do some major code rewrites to get around the issue.

The issue is from host CPIDs not being truly unique on some of the older BOINC projects. It also seems that the BOINC client does not update host CPIDs properly before being sent to the pool during syncs. For now the only thing you can do to try to get around this issue is to switch projects that are giving the error.

You may also try shutting down the BOINC client, deleting all files in C:\ProgramData\BOINC\ and then reattaching the pool to BOINC. This may give you a new host CPID on the project with the error. This method is still largely untested, so please let me know if this works for you or doesn't.

Thanks for working on it! I can report that before I came to forums, I tried uninstalling Boinc, and wiping C:\ProgramData\Boinc. When I tried re-installing Boinc and re-joining the pool I got the same problem with the same project.

Why are you using BAM? Where does it say on the pool to use BAM? BAM has NOTHING to do with the pool at all. Please follow the guide on the pool's front-page very carefully.. Maybe you should check out the FAQ too, to better understand how the pool works.

So today I started using the pool. But there are a few problems. It seems I can't "Run "boinccmd --join_acct_mgr http://pool.gridcoin.co YOUR_EMAIL YOUR_PASSWORD" from the install directory.". It automatically closes after like 1 second.

And under "Account" tab isn't showing "pool.gridcoin.co" as it says in the tutorial, but instead it shows my account name, as you can see in this screenshot.

(The project that I use for the pool is milkyway, don't mind the POEM one, I used it for solo mining and it's suspended)

You must remove all the projects you are currently running before joining the pool account manager.

Then I would suggest updating BOINC manager if it's older than 7.6.10 and go to "Tools > Use account manager..." and enter "http://pool.gridcoin.co"in the "Account manager URL" box. :)

I'm using 7.6.22 (the last one) with the Virtual box. And I also did use pool.gridcoin.co in Account manager.

The Event Log looks like this:

That look good doesn't, so you should be mining for the pool now no?

Yeah but under Account the name is my nickname, not "pool.gridcoin.co", how it says in the tutorial.

//Nevermind, it is solved with the help of people from the IRC channel.
