POP to the moon!

Jimmy, good to hear from you!

Well, you know, right now has got to be as low as it can go unfortunately(for sellers) and fortunately(for buyers) at the same time, I wish I had more litecoin, to buy it all up at this price!

So, only up from here I would say,..

Cheers!

Great to hear.  Glad to hear there will always be nodes.  Eventually everyone in the world will be into crypto, BTC will be 1 mil a coin and people will be rushing into other coins which have shown the ability to last.   :)

No doubt, it is awesome to see Bitcoin doing so well! Who knows how far this will go :o

And it really is no fun only owning .1 or even only 20.1 of anything that is money, so alt coins should have a good future too.

As for POP, it was crushing when after working to get on cryptsy for 2+ years, finally got on cryptsy and then cryptsy died. it was horrible.

POP was doing good when that happened,..

Another good thing that is great to be able to note.

The guys at Cryptopia have POPs back, they were one of POPs first mining pools, before Cryptopia was built POP they worked closely with them so we have a great exchange too.

On a Secondary note,

I have been thinking about doing a complete re-distribution and upgrade.

Because there are lots of coins that are probably lost forever from exchanges going down, all of those coins could go to the POP foundation. And we could have a massive upgrade and catch up with the most cutting edge algos.

What do you guys think? (This is another reason, I know there are many people who own POP but we aren't getting much involvement from them, how can we get more involvement again?)

Yea, Cryptsy left a lot of people and coins hanging.  But it's the nature of the biz.  I really never had a problem with Cryptsy.

You could do a whole new coin and do a swap.  That would allow you to change algo if you choose to do that.  There are plenty of coins which have done that.

It's hard to get people involved at this point in the game.  There are so many coins out there all fighting for the same people... it's the wild wild west.  If there was one magic solution everyone would be doing it.

What is the possibility of implementing Equihash algo.  That might make Pop more pop.

DEV, say here that your wallet contains a virus.
What tell about it? https://aikapool.com/pop/index.php

Please withdraw your POP coins! The pool POP will be closed on 10 March, 2017!
WARNING! File "PopularCoin-Qt-v7.1.exe" has VIRUS!
When loading a blockchain the wallet has tried to change file - C:\Windows\explorer.exe

Regarding the issue with Popular Coin "Virus"

This issue is something that has been discussed in the past. It is listed in the op as well.

What has been known is that this is a false positive because the code has the ability wallet mine and is an older version of bitcoin miner.

We have had some really good devs look at the project and the common consensus is that this is a false positive from this virus total scan: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/5be1c87748a0e7c8717fd586669b83ce5fb0eec1d47fba91443a97d919c00af8/analysis/

Either way, because this bringing to our attention and the time might be right for it, we may need to launch a POP Version2, which may be good for POP right now.

Yay! Pop2.0

Soooo, As it goes, we will go ahead and take the moment to create a completely new code and do a complete Redistribution!

Luckily because we are PopularCoin, we can make it happen!

The code we are currently working with and testing a clone of peercoin/novacoin with Pop block mining and gold graphics, the code is really clean..

Its a scrypt pow/pos hybrid.

A couple of big points to make from what we have been working with so far, is a dramatic reduction in total coin supply.

Basically while we are doing the redistribution the coins will be traded: 1 POPv2 = 100 POPv1 (this should get us into the bitcoin market at least).

The reduction will lower the total supply, to around 35 million and lower the block payout, however we are going to keep the POP Mining X Factor.

For the POS we are thinking 4% annual or maybe 5% but probably 4. Can we get some feedback on all this, what do you think? 4% annual or 5%?

If anyone has any ideas, questions, or objections say them now an help us launch POPv2!

NO!

You can't do that.

POP is as it is.

Good enough, code, wait and see.

But if you have some fancy ideas, then just do a snap shot if you can handle a hard fork with out playback, Butters can't, so you'll have that going for ya.

B'cuz hardforking, well it is like sticky cat shit, hard to wash off.  And we've been here a while POP so don't mess with that, okay?

Hi unicoin,

It wouldn't be a fork, it would be a complete redistribution.

This is an ongoing discussion.

Please add more of your thoughts, thank you for your support.
