It's built on Scrypt PoS 221,400 coins and 15% Annual Stake!

LitecoinPlus is the silver to Bitcoinplus's gold. Due to the low coin supply, both coins would be considered crypto commodities and are a valuable storage for wealth. LitecoinPlus has four times the supply of BitcoinPlus with faster transactions. In comparison to Litecoin, LitecoinPlus uses an advanced green algorithm called Proof of Stake which is not computing intensive. This will ensure LitecoinPlus's future as a powerful next generation commodity.

so looking through the LitecoinPlus code, turns out the wallet only stakes at 1%

static const int64 MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE = 0.01 * COIN; // 15% annual interest

Looking at the remark after the // I'm thinking they meant 15% (.15) but messed up and coded it to 1% (.01)

rush (rushmybitcoin) thinks it would be a good idea to correct this, and change it to 20%, plus change max coins to 4 million -
I think adding PoW would help keep the chain moving and attract miners.

Any thoughts ?

So far, these are the planned changes:

Maximum supply will be increasing to 4 million.
Adding Proof of Work (mining)  - once we decide on the block reward.
Proof of Stake will be increased to 15%

I created a slack for LitecoinPlus. here is an invite link:

This would be a good place to continue discussions on the changes and direction of LitecoinPlus, without cluttering up this information thread.
All are welcome to join and help mold the future of LitecoinPlus.

We can still post here of course, but I think we should try and keep the posts here on solid information so new people won't get confused as easily.

ok, so I think I may have a good handle on the PoW settings:
start reward at 2 and reduce by .25
1)200,000 at 2    = 400,000
2)200,000 at 1.75 = 350,000
3)200,000 at 1.5  = 300,000
4)200,000 at 1.25 = 250,000
5)200,000 at 1    = 200,000
6)200,000 at .75  = 150,000
7)200,000 at .5   = 100,000
                  1,750,000  1.3 years
then the final reduction to .25 BCF
That takes us roughly to half way to the cap of 4,000,000

2 blocks a minute at 1,140 minutes in a day 2,280 blocks a day
2,280  at .25 is 570 bcf created
2,000,000 by 570 is 3,500 days (9.6 years)

Keep in mind these figures are for blocks created by mining alone, and does not figure in the staked blocks.
the more staked blocks - the less mined blocks.

sound good so far ?

testing is going well.
I was able to mine some test blocks once the chain make it to the "switching" block.
Took almost 24 hours before the new blocks started to stake. (it took 26 hours for my official wallet to stake)
I think I'm about ready to wrap up the testing phase.
I should be able to get the new wallets out in a couple of days - with the fork set at block 215,000

As a precaution, I suggest everyone make a backup of their LitecoinPlus directory in case things go south and we have to switch back to the old wallet and old chain.

Do this BEFORE block 215,000
Windows users:
with the file explorer, got to C:\Users\*yourname*\AppData\Roaming
Left click on LitecoinPlus and select copy.

then, left click on Roaming and select paste.

You should end up with a folder called ""LitecoinPlus - Copy"

Linux users:
cp -r ~/.LitecoinPlus ~/.LitecoinPlus-old

This way, your wallet and blockchain is backed up, and we can all go back to the old chain - while protecting our wallets.

Also, don't make ANY LCP transfers after block 215,000 until we can make some test transfers - if you transfer (buy/sell/trade) and BCF, and we have to go back to the old chain - your transfers after block 215,000 will be lost.

2 hours ago, Jimmy said:

@Spidersbox are you taking over this coin?

While working with some of the LitecoinPlus users, we were able to get the network back up again with the original blockchain.

We had to change the trade ticker, someone hijacked the XLC hence the LCP
