  1. snippy Thank you and where is technical support subforum? He tried now but again only pogs show ins cpids list. https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/2380-technical-support/
  2. He's only running NCI apps from Goofyxgrid, so its probably clusters of Pi's or something similar.
  3. I used to run a wallet at my workplace which blocked a lot of ports. The way I got round it was to run tor browser and use the built in SOCKS5 proxy to direct the wallet through that. I couldn't use the wallet button to upgrade but I could at least connect to peers and sync.
  4. I could be wrong but I think WU tasks error if nothing else is running with them, as they effectively send no results to the project.
  5. The worker.exe was picked up by Bitdefender Antivirus (Free edition) this morning on my PC Went in and unblocked it manually. It hasn't picked it up before though and I've been crunching it since October, has anything changed in the worker.exe?
  6. If it happens again you can try the command: repairwallet from the console in the wallet
  7. You can download one from here:- http://download.gridcoin.us/download/downloadstake/signed/ However that one is updated manually can get far behind if not updated recently. If you wanted to back it up manually you would need these three folders and contined files: chainstate database textleveldb and the file: blk0001.dat These are the same files as the snapshot linked above, but will be up to your last sync rather than when the snapshot was uploaded.
  8. Sent you some, let us know how you get on!
  9. Sent you some. Welcome to Gridcoin!
  10. Great guide! What kind of performance can you get on it, looks like it would be somewhere in between a Pi B+ and Pi 2 with 2 cores @ 800 MHz?
  11. There was an issue where a significant proportion of users lost their RAC too recently. Seemed to be random who lost out but it would directly affect magnitude obviously. For example mine went from 1,500 to 0 and it built back up to 600 before this most recent series of crashes. I would imagine other people lost out a lot more.
  12. I had a similar issue with ISP blocking traffic on certain ports and to work around it I used the Tor Browser Bundle as a SOCKS5 proxy and set the Gridcoin wallet to connect through that. I had to upgrade manually using .msi files from the website but it synced and was online at least.
  13. What about a 'Commonly Encountered Problems' or similar that is linked clearly within the guides themselves. A lot of people seem able to get the initial setup running then run afoul of similar problems later on, the empty config file being a good example. Likewise, some kind of glossary linked from within the setup guides will help people if they find a term they don't quite understand. The FAQ on the wiki is good, so maybe just a clear and obvious link to it within the guides again would be fine.
  14. Source: http://qcn.caltech.edu/sensor/forum_thread.php?id=1260#5986 From the forums on QCN page. If it isn't crediting WUs then there's no way of calculating RAC, correct? Which makes the whitelist question moot until they decide to restart the credit scripts.
  15. Well the straight from the gut answer is first ensure you can connect from work to port 1433 - thats the upgrade port. If you go into windows, add features, add the telnet client, then try this : telnet node.gridcoin.us 1433 and see if you get a blank screen. If its blocked, you have an issue there connecting to the upgrade port Rob PS Yes, the logs will help once you know you have access. We actually subscribe to azures clustered SQL for this so we have multiple servers and anti-ddos. Thanks Rob, I get a connection failed message when trying to telnet that port, must be the firewall. I have the SOCKS option checked in the client, is it possible to make the upgrader honour that option? Obviously I can still upgrade manually so its not a huge priority. Edit: For what its worth I'm still crunching Finance and haven't had to reset at all.
