    BITCOIN SCRYPT - BTCS

Bitcoin sCrypt is the decentralized alternative to Bitcoin-core and is the first cryptographic currency to utilize CryptoVoter's decentralized blockchain voting to decide development issues and shift power away from developers and mining pools to coinholders themselves.

    Interesting,

Difficulty 4.23 Net. hashrate 95.76 MH/s Pool hashrate

    7.89 MH/s

Someone is mining with 88 MH/s... Diff at 4.23, that is quite high already! I think we are in for some fun times ahead with this coin. I hope more and more people hear about it, adopt it, and the dev team actively develop this, and stay in contact with the community. Let's do this!

BTC2 has been out for awhile.  The difficulty was much higher before.  There is a quick difficulty change for BTC2.  This coin is a pretty quiet coin, not much is said about the coin online but there are plenty of miners mining it.

I hope the blockchain is fixed soon, and that the guys are working on this! I think very few people know that this exist, and when the issues are sorted and this is more public, this will gain a lot of attention.

I got it working and anticipate releasing the fixed client (v1.2) binaries and source code by Monday (Jan 6).

99.99999% this coin will be nothing and forgotten.  But the slim chance that some people try to exploit / promote this new version of Bitcoin, create confusion, which results in a disruption to the Bitcoin marketplace... now that would be interesting to watch and talk about.

saying this lets you sound like him:

    :D

how would it, at this stage of all the cryptocurrencies, be possible to make profit from falling stock prices?

the good old "borrow shares from brokerage, sell, wait for price to drop, buy at cheaper price, give shares back to brokerage with more money in your pocket" wouldnt quite work, or would it?

are there services/sites that allow borrowing?

This coin isn't worth anything, you're thinking of BITCOIN SHA-256, this is BITCOIN SCRYPT... two totally different coins.

If you have modified the code can you push it to the offical hosted source code so it can me merged? It helps keep the trust of supporters rather than random client download links.

I can then merge it into the code and compile a client to release as I am co-developer.

    Cheers

I've completed the fix and tested and everything is good to go.  Just need to have CaptChadd merge with older version and compile the executable.  I fixed the problems with the gitian yml files so now everybody can compile deterministic builds themselves with gitian and compare the files' checksum hashes instead of simply relying on a developer's pre-compiled binaries so that we can move away from centralized trust to decentralized trust.

I'll provide more info tomorrow but I made the following changes to client (v.1.2.0):

    1. Fixed the issue with the initial blockchain download allowing for complete download of the blockchain from scratch.
    2. Added CaptChadd's node (31.193.130.77) to the source as a seed node allowing for much better connects without editing the conf file or using --addnode.
    3. Added checkpoints at the 0, 11111, 33333, 55555 and 60000 block heights to create static checkpoints and better secure the blockchain.
    4. Enabled the QR generator so now the client can generate QR codes.
    5. Enabled the Windows Installer and the daemon.
    6. Fixed the yml files in ../contrib/gitian-descriptors so the gitian builds work like a charm
    7. Created step-by-step directions on creating a gitian build for windows so that anyone can compile the windows client from the source-code and compare their files' checksum hashes with other user's.
    8. Changed the logo to reflect Bitcoin sCrypt instead of Bitcoin 2.

I do not plan on distributing any Windows binaries, under the assumption that CaptChadd will compile and distribute the binaries through the bitcoinscrypt.org website, but I will provide the checksum hashes of my gitian builds of the Windows client so you can compare binaries you compile yourself or get from CaptChadd.  I'm going to talk to CaptChadd about adding gitian.sigs to Omega's github site so that anyone can build the Windows client from source and post their compiled binary files' checksum hashes because users of cryptographic currencies need to get away from trusting pre-compiled binaries from a single centralized source.

Speaking of which, the source-code of the revised client (v.1.2.0) will be provided tomorrow after some much need sleep.  Hopefully, the compiled Windows binaries will be released shortly thereafter.

    Regards,
