Sorry, but this coin has been pretty much broken by v1.1. You cannot change coin parameters without a hard fork. You must choose a block where the parameters change, otherwise it's chaos, the client won't sync from the first block, etc.

A fix to the client is underway for this coin, where the code will have in place the old code before the hard fork and the new updated code, this way the client will sync and download from the first block. It should be ready by tomorrow, the day after at the latest.

Yeah, I think that Bitcoinexpress just wants a better reason for the ban other than just the fact it has the same name as BTC SHA. Which is fair enough.

IMHO I think they should ban it.  It's the same name a bitcoin and there could be brand confusion... especially for all the businesses that use bitcoin.  Promoting bitcoin scrypt to the users on such a large forum could send a horde of newbs to sites which accept bitcoins with wallets loaded with BTC2.  Those people will then open support tickets when the BTC2s don't show up as a deposit.  If anything they should ban it out of respect to those business that are accepting BTC.

Would any of the other coins allow a same named coin on their dedicated forum - would WDC allow a WDC2 on their forum, would FTC allow a FTC2 on their forum?  I highly doubt it.

So do we know what btctalk team are going to say? They seem to be worried about confusion and scamming which I can see possible. However it is just a learning curve in my opinion. I see BTC as an island where only the rich have now bought all the land and moved to.lol..Bitcoin Scrypt is another island that's just as nice but hasn't been populated yet( first boats just arriving now..) I really hope this does well. If it does I will help people out. Is there anything I could do to help you make this coin more popular. Research data/ advertise etc. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to help. Maybe we could get a sub team of peeps together to form strategies of moving forward and helping Omega. I don't know much about the coding side but I can help in other ways im sure! The press and most people who first heard about this have been fobbed off by the overwriting blollocks of the roaming folder. Contacting the right press again with updated info and restating that it doesn't overwrite is going to be quite a few battles ahead. I think it's the concept people always find hard at first..understanding it and getting used to it shoudlnt take too long. Btc sha and Btc scrypt is obvious to me that they are different. Educating the masses on this difference shoudlnt be too hard as long as its kept simple..lol How's the exchange coming along? Is there an update on how far it's progressing? Also the block explorer. Any news? I would do it if I could :0(Is there another type of website that would benefit this coin atm?:OP

Right now they are working on V1.2 and getting that sync error solved.... For the moment while Omega6 and CaptChadd work on the wallet, just help build the block chain.....

I too am willing to help promote, have a yahoo account and twitter ready and waiting...  Also contributing 8Mhs when i can (not that it compares to that 400Mhs beast that comes and goes)

I will also be conducting a giveaway soon, not much use to us when the blockchain won't sync lol. I know CaptChadd is making an Extremecoin wallet for Android (atleast i read it somewhere) I'm even willing to donate to him but he has yet to respond so I may look for some cheap app development somewhere, although it would be better if it stayed "in house"

wouldn't like for some random developer to take my money and keep a backdoor to taking peoples wallets.

I was also going to take BTC Scrypt for iPhone unlocks, but there's and issue with the cheap source unlocks and not they range from $30+ USD now rather than my great reseller price. I find your analogy of the island life put a smile on my face heh heh, it's that idea that I personally feel will cause others to migrate.

To think, I was gonna buy a 60GH ASIC and would probably be at a point where i still would not have received it and going nuts. Est. next difficulty OVER 3,000,000

That diff is very high..lolGlad to hear V1.2 is coming a long soonWill set up a yahoo and twitter account as well ;0)Also going to do giveaway soon.I hope you find someone for the app dev. Trust seems to be crucial at the moment. Is your app to do with the Phone unlocking?I find it hard to understand things sometimes and can read over and over again at the same page..lol.So getting an image in my head and understanding the concepts of things is how I progress a lot in life and in seeing where things can feasibly go. I have had so many ideas that have actually been created by others it's time to put on the doing shoes...Once the Bitcoin scrypt island has a good port and some ships we can trade over at Btc sha island.:0)I am putting about 4mhs into it and not stopping any time soon!I thought about the asic miners a few months ago but so so so so so glad I didn't choose butterfukup labs or any of the others...Scrypt all the way!P.S. Our new island may be at risk if you don't keep up mining. T&c apply.

    Tupacshomey and Cryptohit,

I'm working with Omega6 and CaptChadd on helping promote the code and would be interested in coordinating with you guys.  I'll send a PM shortly.

Right, for me to be able to get the client to download the blockchain from scratch and fix the sync issues, I need to know the exact block where the hard fork happened.

It would be the block after the load of blocks where the difficulty was stuck on 4.

For this we need a blockchain explorer, we need someone to make one for us.

I might be able to get someone but not sure if he agrees with this coin or wants to be connected to it.

Is it Dreamwatcher you're referring to? I remember seeing the thread that he was having an issue with the sync and that's why the block explorer was halted.....

Chicken and Egg scenario huh, he needs the sync to create the block explorer, but the explorer is needed to fix the sync lol... Still if my novice skills can get the wallet to synce, I'm sure he could make it happen as well. Have you heard any information from Dreamwatcher?
