    BITCOIN SCRYPT - BTCS

Bitcoin sCrypt is the decentralized alternative to Bitcoin-core and is the first cryptographic currency to utilize CryptoVoter's decentralized blockchain voting to decide development issues and shift power away from developers and mining pools to coinholders themselves.

I'm thinking... this might be the next Bitcoin!

I wonder if I should setup a hosted forum?

Well this will certainly make people confused.

Yea, brand confusion.  Now people won't know what they're using.  I didn't check but this could use the same address structure.  That could be really interesting!  Could this be the downfall of Bitcoin?

Well I wonder when do start people yelling "hey this sh*t deleted my 50 BTC wallet!!!" This was a really bad idea. Or should have named coin like sBTC.

Hmmm... should I call this Bitcoin 2.0 or Bitcoin Scrypt?

I was thinking the same thing about the code BTC.  It should have been named something else.

Lately I've been thinking about this exact thing happening.  I was actually going to write an editorial on the impact of brand confusion in the event of a release of a Bitcoin 2.0 by an unnamed developer.  It's funny because this is exactly happening.

Confusing potential customers could be the downfall of any really successful cryptocoin.  It only takes a couple of people to be confused and/or scammed to start a word-of-mouth campaign against any particular cryptocoin - in this case - Bitcoin.  The reason for Trademark registration is in essence, brand confusion.

This site should not even support a coin such as this. It reduces credibility for obvious reasons.

The fact that it overwrites the bitcoin folder in your roaming directory is so utterly fail only a idiot could come up with that idea.

This coin wil only cause confusion and lost wallets and might in the long run discredit Bitcoin.

Wtf was someone thinking when they make a scrypt coin and named it "Bitcoin scrypt", total lack of fantasy, originality or any imagination at all.

I certainly hope that person dont start a career as a writer or something cause then we will have book about Horry Patter and Ninnie the Pooh..

I don't support any coins.  I just post forums for cryptocoins that are released.  Should I start removing other coins which are bad clones?  Where would it end.  CCT is for information and discussion about all cryptocoins.  Bitcoin Scrypt was released and thus it has a place on this site.

It should be BTS or BTCS...

Other than that i think it's a good idea. As good as some of the other alts at least.

I totally agree.  The code should have been something different.  It will cause confusion.

Good idea?  We'll find out.  Academically, it will test the Bitcoin.  How does a de-centralized cryptocurrency handle a same named product?  Who is going to make a trademark claim against Bitcoin Scrypt?  In regular business, there would be a lawsuit for using the name Bitcoin and creating customer / brand confusion.  But in this instance, I'm not sure who would sue who.

99.99999% this coin will be nothing and forgotten.  But the slim chance that some people try to exploit / promote this new version of Bitcoin, create confusion, which results in a disruption to the Bitcoin marketplace... now that would be interesting to watch and talk about.

Here's something I just thought about:  Bitcoin news organizations reporting on Bitcoin Scrypt.  Like a troll, it's best just to ignore them until they go away.  Rule of thumb, more attention and the worst they get.

Will Bitcoin news organizations report on Bitcoin Scrypt?  Will the reporting cause more people to become informed about Bitcoin Scrypt giving more publicity to Bitcoin Scrypt then any other cryptocoin besides Bitcoin SHA and Litecoin?  Instead of Bitcon Scrypt dying from lack of exposure it's actually ignited.  I guess only time will tell.
